And just like that my weekend was over. I hope it treated you well and i hope it filled you up with sweetness. As you can tell, mine was rather a tiring weekend and it mainly has alot to do with the special Saturday event organized by my family.
My family organized a trip to visit our grandparents and relatives graves to offer our payers, food and also to clean up their graves for the Qing Ming festival, a day to remember and honor one's ancestors at the grave sites. On Saturday, i woke up at 5am to get ready for the event and also to lotion up on sun block. You see, i don't really adore the sun as much as i would love to because i usually end up getting a really bad migrant after hanging out with it too long. I always enjoy Qing Ming Festival despite the fact that i dislike hanging that many hours under the sun. This festival reminded me of the importance of family heritage and family roots. It is not a solemn occasion, but rather, a time for happy communion with my grandparents and relatives. And yes sire, i ended up with a migrant at the end of the exhausting day and lucky there was Sunday for me to rest up and recoup.
I also managed to squeeze in some time to finish up Cathy's lovely gift bag and plan to send these little goodies along her way tomorrow. To make the gift bag a little different from my other bags, i added a little flower applique to wrap around the cute little vintage button. I love the way it turn out and i hope Cathy enjoys it even more!
Thank you everyone for all the lovely nice support i received about hand stitching my gift bag and thank you for all your precious advices and tips i received on my little sewing machine issue. I really appreciate all the support ~ i had a lot of FUN hand stitching my little gift bag! And i'm still figuring out how to change the needle on my little sewing machine ~ i love it, but i know there is certainly a learning curve in progress.
Have a lovely merry happy Monday my dear friends and lots of love to you and yours!
