I had big plans of checking each and every item off my scary To Do list, i mean, i had really big plans, but then in the mist of working through my list, i got distracted with a sudden spurts of creativity to create a purse that holds pocket tissue paper, cards and money. And you know what? I enjoyed every single minute of it.
I have a thing for working with linen. I really love the texture and can't seem to pass it up when i find it in tons of great colors and patterns. I started off working on the sketch for the purse design and i tweaked the pattern (in shapes cut from a brown paper sack). I made some roses a while back and decided it was due time to use one as a flair for this spontaneous project. I finished the purse with a ribbon. It's a miracle and it turned out surprisingly well.
This would make a perfect gift if you're looking for something snazzy and handmade. If you want one of your own, i would love to make a few more with different laces, ribbons and trims to send out into the world. Contact me and i'll whip you one up.
I really love it when such spontaneous spurts of creativity happen. I mean, this process is exactly the kind of thing that thrills me to no end. Sketching up a design, pattern making and sewing it into a reality, good grief ~ it's a lot of fun.
I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the super sweet compliments on my commission fancy wearable cuteness. Sometimes the smallest things can really perk a girl up. I'm still riding high from completing it that took place last week, and yours sweet words about it.
Hope your weekend was fun. You know i certainly had a good one. I'll be back later in the week with some scattered pretty pink blooms around my little studio. Love to you and yours.
