Hope your Thanksgiving was full to the brim. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my sister and brother this year. I cooked, we ate and more eating the next days.

In honor of thanksgiving, i want to take this opportunity to say Thank You. Thanks for making my creative journey a great one, and more importantly thanks for all your love, support and your generosity in sharing with me. I am here because of YOU.

I want to start my holiday season off on the right foot; in gratitude, mindfulness, joy and of course, love! I hope to be able to slow down and savor on the simplicities life this season. I still have a few large projects to wrap up before December but for now let the holiday cheers begin!

uncovering the reason

Although the blog silence probably seems as though i've fallen down the rabbit hole, i promise i haven't ~ i have spent the last week and weekend completely absorbed in sewing and scheming. You know, the ones that take up the most room.

I've been thinking a lot about inspiration. Where inspires me, what little things i keep close by for daily inspiration, things that have come to me in many different ways which i've decided to hang on to ~ special things. I think it has a great deal to do with color. I am drawn to certain colors on certain days and some colors are constant, like pink, white, and that green you see here on my bubble space.

Lately, i'm noticing lots of purple popping up around the corners of my studio and house ~ not sure what that's about but they really cheer me up. That beautiful purple flowers {above} were made by my dear mama, a woman that's quiet and gentle and as good as they come. What a lovely bouquet, but maybe i'm a little biased.

Before i start my week, i've been meaning to say thanks so much for all the sweet words about our little summer house at Hamburg, Germany. Your kindness and congratulations means the world to us. Sometimes the smallest thing can really perk us up!

the things we do

It has been what i would call a very good week so far. I have the free time that exists during my little break from day job. I mostly just stayed in and worked on sewing projects.

Lately, Kim and i have been doing this cooking game plan for fast and easy meals on weekdays where one of us is completely responsible for preparing dinner. It was the mister's idea to cook up a fast and simple delicious meal with a creative twist on weekdays from the help of "Personal trainer: Cooking" game in our Nintendo DS console. A game that brings gourmet cooking with 245 plus recipes from more than 30 countries worldwide. I was into the idea and the rest is history. For the last two weeks, each of us accepted the "challenge". It's been quite a treat.

Thank you kindly to each of you for all the kindness about the mister's new indoor flip flop. Your words mean a lot to me. I'm going to drink tea and enjoy the last bits of my break. Have a colorful merry happy Wednesday! Love to you and yours.

Tea brings feeling to life

So happy weekend has come. Kim and i are getting back into the swing of things here at home. I'm starting to notice our usual daily routines re-emerge after spending so much of the Chinese New year time away.

One of my daily routine is my morning tea. I'm a big tea drinker. Have been for years ~ i'm a creature of habit and tend to find something i like and stick with it, like the tea leafs from Purple cane.

The inspiration in making these cute heart-shaped tea time treat boxes came from this habit. I don't know about you but i feel that tea has this magical touch of keeping feelings and relationship warm in a form of art.

The handmade treat boxes are designed by sweet Kim. I handmade the heart-shaped tea bags and filled them with my favorite tea leafs {hygiene-ly handle with care} from Purple Cane ~ Jasmine Green Tea, Green Tea and Tie Guan Yin. Each lovely treat boxes consist of one cute Robert Gorden Australia teaspoon and 6 heart-shaped tea bags {2 bags of each different flavors}.

I am so very happy that these delightful treats were a valentine's day hit. So happy that i am extra, extra glad, and smitten, i've added them to the shop for some splash of fun.

I'm going to sew and drink tea and make a big salad with toast on the side. At least those are a few things i hope to do.

on the mend...finally...I think

Sorry for checking out for a bit there, i just spent my last week and weekend sick in bed with one of the nastiest colds/flu viruses in recent memory. It was the pits, completed with body aches, fever and one of the worst sore throats ever.

I was having a hard time and found myself feeling a little bit of sadness mixed with a tinge of depression. The sad part, simply put, has something to do with the recognition that i only learn to listen when my body tells me "enough". Sometimes it slips my mind that nothing really works without our health. The depression [that goes hand in hand with sadness}, has something to do with how i feel about my day-job as a programmer ~ unproductive and uninspired. That longing feeling for more time and more space to spend on my creative dream continues to yearn on ~ calling me. Maybe it was all these feelings that finally boiled down to this nastiest colds/flu. Either way, i didn't get much in the way of crafting done. It was good to have to stay away from the sewing machine for a while because it reminded me of how much i really enjoy sewing and seaming away. This slowing down, also reminded me of the comfort joy in "appreciating the tiny little things and the people around" ~ sometimes it just slip pass my fingers.

Sitting here in this slightly chill morning sunshine quietly sharing space with you here on my little bubble space was also one of the things that i needed most. Being here with you and connecting myself in this creative world keeps me calm, gives me a little more faith and believes in myself and allows me to carry on.

I also wanted to say thank YOU to each of you who commented so kindly about my wedding ring pillow. It feels good to have made a big check beside that item on my list. I'll be back soon with more crafty news.

I wish Halloween is a huge event here in this city of brotherly love but unfortunately it's not. If it is, i would be looking forward to pumpkin carving and tricker-treaters ~ it's fun to see what comes a'knockin'!

Once again i took the liberty to seek the help of the ye olde wizened ~ Random Number Generator! Emails will be sending out soon to the chosen ones ~ Koralee, Gina Kim, Dana, Kate and Emily. Girls watch your mailbox for a package from little me... i hope these little teaspoons treat you well.

 
There was such a variety of thoughtful comments and recommendations! I feel really lucky to have such a well-rounded generous friends. I like black tea and green tea, but i'm definitely open-minded to all other varieties. Thank you so much for playing along!

Today the internet hasn't been acting up and it's only the early afternoon. I'm not a big fan of days like today ~ lots to do but can't accomplished much when the net is as slow as a little snail. Not a very nice way to end the week if you ask me. But lucky the weekend is just around the corner. I could almost smell it. :)

Thanks for all the sweetness about my new found camera and Erin's broccoli-cheddar soup post the other day. I really love finding super yummy recipes and treating myself to something i've been wanting for a long while. It's very satisfying. I'm not skilled with my D90 and i will attempt with very simple photography mode in order to refrain from getting frustrated. I mean, i wouldn't want to take the fun out of it now would i?

 
  
 

 
Something else that's satisfying is making another Bones bookmark for a lovely customer. I simply adore hannah, the little girl, embracing the back of Bones. I've also finished Sandy's wedding ring pillow, i'm looking forward to snap some photos to show you soon!

So happy Friday has come. This week i've been very involved in projects ~ wedding clutch and Mr Skelly bookmark, soon to be completed. I'll definitely show you when they are done.

I'll decided to keep things sorta light today ~ it's a current mood thing, i suppose. Many thanks to each of you for participating on my Pay It Forward and sending me endless love and support. :) I've decided to keep it open till this coming Sunday, Oct 11 midnight PS. I have a few more surprises planned for you on this special month of October. I'm holding my breath and hoping it all works out ~ planning surprises sometimes make me a little nervous.

On the mend...

This week went by in a blur. I guess some weeks just do that.

I'm feeling much better, my daily dose of self-prescribed medication seems to be helping together with lots of tea. Boy am i sooo happy to know that weekend is just right around the conner. I could really use alot of rest, comfort food and more tea!

If i had more brain power, i would love to send a note to every single one of you who send me such kind words and love during my sick days. Each and every comment made me smile and warm my heart. Thank you sooo much friends!

Keeping it short and sweet....

I hope your week is shaping up nicely. Mine seems to be crammed full of workshop, reading, homework and more workshop at my day job. I even managed to squeeze in time for food and some craft work somewhere in there too. I'm not a huge fan of days like these, i prefer my days to be slow and easy but i guess sometimes slow is just no where to be found. I'm guessing i'm not alone here.

Oh i do have some exciting news to share. Remember this baby eye candy from here and here? This little one is now "famous". The above photo is taken from an advertisement that little Reymi did for this product Agnesia Nappy Powder making it's way in the local baby magazines. So proud of my little baby nephew!
