Q's So Cute It Hurts

Sunscreen? Check. Camera? Check. Parasol? Check.

I'm back from a lovely weekend in a little cozy resort, Avillion Village Resort, just about one and a half hours drive from this lovely city og brotherly love. Avillion was excellent... and a wee bit exhausting. The heat was no joke and this time, i did remember to re-apply sunscreen at regular intervals ~ learned after my last getaway that ended with a nice little sunburn to prove it. It was terrific and i hope to return again in the future. The sight of this lovely resort as i took slow walks embracing the smell of sea water... made me run back for my camera.

surprises are nice.

 
I hope your weekend was beautiful and relaxing and all the things you needed it to be. Mine was excellent with a few surprises. Well... not exactly surprises if you continue to read on but i like to think of them that way.

I recently confirmed something about myself. For a while now, i've noticed whenever the deadline for a project is quickly approaching or i have taken on too many "to do" things at once ~ i normally feel kinda stressed about it. Over the weekend, i have to drop everything and focus on some other things which have been boggling in my mind for a LONG while.

 
It finally happened. I know i am going to get my hands on a good one some day but i just never know when it's going to happen but last sunday was the day. I have no complaints...let's toast!

 
Finally getting around to make Broccoli-cheddar soup! It has taken me forever to finally do it. If your wondering "How's the soup" ~ well, to me it was super tasty {even thought i couldn't find the blender and have to use alternative ways to make the soup creamy as can be}! This is definitely one of those cozy comfort food for those cold days. I was indeed in for quite a treat!

In crafty news, i've finally completed a custom order and a gift. I'll post some photos of finished pieces soon. Before i go, i want to also thank you everyone for participating in my little giveaway. I really appreciate all the support ~ the October giveaways were quite fun to get lost in during the planning process.

Easy does it

Don't really know how it came to be Monday so quickly. Either way, i'm still here, although i'm not feeling all that chatty, which has a lot to do with this heavy pounding i am feeling on the right side of my head ~ migraine.

Hope your weekend was nice. Mine was full of tasty comfort food, a bit of socializing, as well as working away here, sewing and scheming (while taking lots of long break) with the wedding project ~ i'll definitely show you when it's done. Very proud to say that i've took some time to embark on a little adventure to a famous tourist spot here in this city of brotherly love ~ Batu cave, a limestone hill which has a series of caves and cave temples.

Things i learned during this little adventure:

• I should make it a point to do daily exercises.
• I am really afraid of heights.
• The warm sunshine can be an added bonus.
• Monkeys can be really scary when they are hungry.
• You can never have too many flip-flops.

Not sure how this week is going to look with regard to posting. In the meantime, have a good merry happy day and a good start to your week! Take it easy and love to you!

Color me pretty world

Hello there. Thanks so much for the kind words about my ribbon embroidery. You guys are so sweet! Wow my long weekend flew by, despite the fact that i tried to slow it down. I might have to keep trying...

It was a cozy couple of days filled with days spent hunched shoulder ~ sewing, searching for colors and having an excuse to pursue tons of nifty fabrics and craft supplies. I have been able to keep my camera close by and have seen things a little differently, perhaps in better focus.

~ work till ... well, i didn't manage to get my eyes hurt but my fingers are in pain.

~ searching for colors ... the mid-autumn (moon) festival is just around the corner, there are lots of beautiful pretty mooncake packaging and traditional lanterns up for sales.

~ fabric and craft shops visit ... so many loveliness to choose! I finally settled with butterflies and flowers in salmon color fabric, sweet shabby rose in beautiful soft cream and colorful checked fabric for my backing on my quilt (on going project).

Most importantly, i've used this long weekend to slow down and take time to look around me, taking in the world i walk around in ~ almost always in too big of a hurry. I hope your week is shaping up nicely! Have a lovely merry happy mid-week and lots of love from me to you!

Hello there... i'm still here and no, i haven't dropped off the planet. I apologize for the lack of posts. I've wanted to take some time away from the computer.

It's good to be back after a long weekend. I hope you found some time to relax. I certainly did. I was away ~ a lovely weekend trip near Kuantan, Pahang. It was such a great time full of beautiful nature (oh my so green!), blue water, and amazing blue skies ~ each day was perfect for some outdoor living. To be honest, it felt so good to finally get out of this city of brotherly love, into the nature and hanging out for an entire good couple of days catching up with family.

I managed to soak up bits of the sun with swims in the resort pool and the water park, some early morning bird watching and eating almost every meal outside. It was perfect in every way. Now i can say i'm truly ready for Fall.... if it's possible in this tropical country of love.

The bones has landed…

Another weekend comes to a close, i hope you had a good one. I managed to make the best of mine even though it rained and rained and....is still raining here in the tropical city of love. I've some crafting done. I swam, played music and watched some DVDs. I've even time to cleaned and reorganized my crafting supplies and really tired to have as much fun as possible before the start of a new week.

Last night around 11pm. i managed to finally finished Bones the Bookmark! He turned out pretty cute once finished. I even added a cute monogram embroidery design on his back. This little bookmark project is definitely a great way to use up some wool fabric scarps, and i always like it when i find projects that work for that.

Bones is extremely harmless and not scary at all...in fact, a good companion as you cuddle up on your reading sofa enjoying a good book with a warm cup of tea. Thank you all for suggesting that bones will make a perfect gift for Halloween ~ which didn't even cross my mind when i was creating him.

Also thanks for all the sweetness about my new found fabrics. I really love finding inspirations from fabric shops and sharing it here with all of you! It's very satisfying. I'll be back soon! Have a lovely merry happy week and love to all of you!

Hopefully this week will be good

Hope your weekend was nice. Mine was. It was busy, but i had a great dinner out with friends on Saturday, which reminded me how much i enjoy spending a weekend evening dinning at the outdoor with good comfort food, a nice bottle of wine, and lots of conversation.

After a nice weekend, i figured i should keep the good times rolling by treating myself to fabric shopping. Funny thing is, it worked and the good times continue to roll. Hopefully this week will be good for work and projects.

Having just spent a weekend in a really beautiful spot here at Awana, Genting, i must admit that i am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things here at home. The weather cooperated and it was so nice being in nature and so green..perfect for a lovely picnic with ringing laughter on merry grounds. With a couple of friends, together we made and ate wonderful food (casserole, bacon mashed potato, beer german sausages and lots of greens with dark bread). There was walking in the park, some games played and a whole lot of relaxing. I guess it's pretty clear to think that i just had a perfect weekend.

I think i have made it through the roughest part of this nasty cold/flu situation. My weekend was merely getting alot of rest, tea, feeling better and very non-productive. Sweet relief.

Hello friends. Today feels like a blur. Some Mondays just do that. Give me a double dose of espresso please.

Sorry for checking out for a bit here, i did, however, get a little distracted. So distracted, that i'm posting now for the first time since last Wednesday. The weekend went by too fast. I hope it treated you well. Honestly, it's been nice to take the time to read a book, watch a couple of movies and just relax a bit after a hectic week.

 

I finally found time to sit at my creative space and get crafty. It was the first day i sat down and sewed on my fantastic, works like magic sewing machine since the day i took it home. I also managed to squeeze in time for a custom order for "I love my home bunny key pouch". With any luck, i hope to have this special order key pouch done by tomorrow. We'll see how i do with deadlines.

I'll be back soon with some new sewing projects. I think my motivation to sew might be returning. I feel like i've been in a sewing slump for a while now. Maybe my desire to sew this weekend had to do with sewing while listening to good music?
