So Cute It Hurts

So happy Sunday has come. It is such a good day for supreme laziness! 

But before i say anything more, i must first say THANKS a million for the kind words and support about my first week at the new job adventures. You guys are so sweet. If you want to know the truth, the week went pretty alright but the pace of all the reading and learning the new business and functional processes are making me a little nutso and a little overwhelmed. I'm doing what i can and, trying to stay calm and carry on. I think i am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel in that department, though. Just a glimmer.

I treated myself to one "surviving the first week" gift in the form of a beautiful shabby chic Cherry Cupcake table clock from a local home decor shop. Not sure why it took me so long to find a table clock for my creative workspace, but it was worth the wait, though.  Love the shabby chic feel and the size of it. I can't seem to stop looking at it. It makes me happy.

I also like the fact that the Cherry Cupcake clock is made of metal. I couldn't resist adding one of my favourite magnet to it (the love birds are my favorite!).

not bad for a Sunday

Happy Easter! It has been a really good one so far. I was able to finally accomplish some sewing and a little spring cleaning/project scheming. Hope you are having a nice one, too.

It is no secret that i love my little girl, Coco, and that i photograph her often. I am also not shy about posting photos of her in this space and over on flickr on a pretty regular basis. What can i say, she is rather photogenic and i'm a bit of a crazy Lati-doll-lady. Could be worse.

I took a few snaps of her for the Easter celebration. I know it's a little weird to have her post in her all time favorite sheep hat instead of a bunny hat. I couldn't resist, i really adore sheep more than any other adorable animals.

Well, my friends, the time has finally come. I am starting my new job adventure on Monday. I'm thrilled. Thanks so much for all the wonderful offerings of love, encouragement and congratulations. You guys are the best. And I am so grateful to be able to send news like this out into the world and feel such kindness and support from people i have never even met. Kind of blows my mind, actually. And most of all, for reminding me that so much good exists in the world.

I've crossed the line...

Look how spoiled my little one has been lately when it comes to one of my favorite things: Mail. I've had the good fortune of being able to order a few lovely items for my Coco. Except for this miniature model camera, i placed orders that support amazing crafters whose creations i have come to know and love.

This tiny gem above hasn't and won't leave my little one's fingers any time soon. One of my best girl, Pei Li, found it for me on Photojojo. This camera is very detailed and very real looking 1/6 scale model of my life-size DSLR with every button, screen, switch, and dial in place. I love it!

This charming little replica comes with three detachable lenses with removable lens hoods! And just when i thought it couldn't get any more want-worthy, a snap happy plastic dino is included too!

Hope you had a great weekend. Mine hasn't turned out too awesome. I've been down for the count since Friday morning with a nasty headache/body-ache and a gastric flu. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that doctor's prescription and taking it easy this week will contribute to a speedy recovery.

there's a first time for everything. part two

It has certainly been established that i'm a big fan of Parisian tea salons and pastry shops. One day, i hope to enjoy a magical afternoon at these shops Ladurée Paris and Antoinette Singapore.

It makes me really happy to say that i finished my first 2012 sewing project. It has been quite a while since i made something new, so i'm pretty pleased with this new apron. Don't get me wrong, it has a few flaws, but i really love those parts. It fits well and i think it's super comfortable.

My bakery french maid uniform is inspired by this manga series ~ i had a little trouble with the inset due to my rusty sewing skills. Either way, the apron is done and the whole french maid uniform just falls nicely together, which feels really good. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

This maid uniform will be on it's way to a sweet talented friend, Pei Li, once i'm done with a few final touch ups. I think her Ruki (Lati doll) will look great in it.

My little one had such fun modeling this piece with her new little bakery toys. I will be adding more assorted breads, desserts, cakes and french macarons to her little English Tea Cart collection. I'm sure she will be very pleased.

welcome Dragon year

This weekend is full to the brim with Chinese New Year prep and merriment. It's a tradition to take a drive to Chinatown during this festive season. As anticipated, the trip to Chinatown was full of good times ~ with hours of wandering around selecting Chinese New Year cookies, lanterns and a few goodies for the little apartment. My sister and i even managed to soak up some sunshine and some exercise.

I'm looking forward to wonderful lazy days, naps, a goodly amount of tasty food and drink is also definitely on the list. It's a good opportunity for me to THANK YOU for reading, for commenting, for emailing me just to say hello, and most of all, for reminding me that so much good exists in the world. May you and yours have a wonderful Dragon 2012!

I'm keeping the holiday decorations extremely simple this year. I put out a few new things with a little table-top tree in my little creative space. I'm looking forward to Christmas breakfast, a tradition to watch this Christmas movie and bust a move or two to my favorite jingle tunes.

Even my little shy girl is dress for the occasion with her adorable brown reindeer hat. Feeling very bright and cheery around here indeed.

Hello friends.

I'm taking Divas and Dreams workshop this month and the following month. Just because, i feel that it's time to take my photography to the next level, to explore my creativity, develop my own style and conquer the fear of using Photoshop. Christina's content is absolutely fabulous so far and not to forget all the talented and interesting classmates i am meeting. Very uplifting and inspiring indeed.

My first assignment is to put together an inspiration vision board of images that inspires me and evokes my creativity. I have a huge collection of images that pulls my heart strings and make my heart sing. It's about time to take some of them out and display them to feed my creative soul.

I'm a huge fan of Leslie's (a Creative Mint) work ever since we met in Blogging Your Way back in 2009. On October 2009, i wrote an email to sweet Leslie asking for permission to use her images on my personal board and she said YES. Ever since that day, i've been collecting her gorgeous images and safely keeping them in my inspiration folder. Honestly, i'm a little embarrassed to admit that this vision board didn't materialize till this day...yes after 2 years.

So here is my board for So Cute It hurts inspiration 2011. A collection of images mostly from sweet Leslie of a Creative Mint, an image from Pei Li of Dollhouse Miniatures by Pei Li and a beautiful image of a Australian home designed by Gardener Marks.

I've toss around ideas for my board. I love patterns, fabrics, sewing notions, lace, tapes, flowers and i'm drawn to the color pink, so i settled on doing a color me pretty with a hint of pink theme.

I had the old one up since June, so it's a good time for a change. My inspiration board now sits back on my sewing table. It makes me smile each time i see it.

all things handmade

It makes me really happy to say that i finished that unexpected huge order and delivered it to a happy customer. Now i can come up for air and breathe.

While at Pipit wonderful market 7, i had the pleasure of not only meeting wonderful crafty ladies, but i managed to score some nifty handmade goodies. Purchasing handmade creations by others is one of my favorite things ever. EVER. They make me happy.

Loving my new plush from the super talented lady of Pocoleizi. I love each and every one of her plushes, and she has endless designs which made it terribly hard to choose. I Can't wait to sew a little dress for this little one! I even bought a little chair for her to sit on ~ an Evangelione collection.

A lace ribbon rack for all my loveliness! What a score. This is designed and handmade by the super talented folks at LazyboneHandmade. I plan to make a little cover for it.

I've also used my camera a great deal and i even had the pleasure of meeting readers i knew and i never knew were out there reading. I really appreciate those of you stopping by to say hi. I'll be back with lots of photos and a complete play by play next week.

But for now i wanted to show you some of my newest tote bags. Tote bags with handmade button closure, leather handles and lots of inside organization (very much needed). To be honest, i've been hoarding all of these fabrics for a while now. It must be the bold illustration and the colors. Yep, I'm definitely a fan of the colors.

I finished putting my first batch of holiday totes and handmade journals in the shop. I'm feeling sorta like patting myself on the back for finally meeting this crafty goal. Now i am going to get started on a couple of Christmas projects ~ limited edition holiday goodies. Not sure what my plan is just yet, but i have several ideas in the works.

corners of my creative space : a place for my packaging goodies

This week passed quick, and hooray to weekend! All i needed was some warmth and sunshine, and today is brimming with both. A good start to the weekend indeed.

As promised in my new series "Corners of my creative space", i wanted to share a few of photos of my little studio space with you this week. A little cozy place for all my whimsical packaging goodies and my little lavender plant. 

All the bits of color around my little packaging corner. A collection of shabby chic trays, boxes and table top display with drawers to store my business tags, name cards, vintage paper tags, dollies, stamps, handmade/handprinted "SoCuteItHurts" reusable muslin drawstring bags and whimsical packaging materials/supplies.

I always have fun stopping to take a look around my space. I like color, and i'm noticing i really like white, pink and red color scheme, especially around/in my creative space.

I adore my new addition to my growing tray collection : french rustic tray! In case you are curious, this tray is custom made by my talented sweet friend, Pei Li. Thank you so much lovely friend! I filled up my little basket with pretty packaging tapes. I'm as pleased as Punch!

Hint of "Spring" is starting to pop up. I made a trip to the nursery last weekend and left with an adorable lavender plant. Not sure how long this little one will last because yours truly is just not a very good plant keeper.

• A rally to demand changes in Malaysia's electoral system is happening at the heart of Kuala Lumpur (i pray for the safety of everyone) and

• I have some projects i'm ready to tackle. Starting my new collaboration project with sweet talented friend, Pei Li, i've got a half-completed logo making that needs some serious attention, and making a new weekend tote in refreshing new design inspired by my Marylinn weekend tote.

Got milk?

After drooling over this adorable milk bottle for a short while (standing at the milk section for about 5 mins), i decided i should just purchase it. You see, i am not a fan of milk and i wasn't sure how my taste buds would accept it. I wanted this milk bottle but i didn't want to waste the milk. It turns out, the goat's milk didn't taste that bad at all. I am a happy girl ~ got the milk bottle and didn't waste the milk. Planning to buy two more of these adorable milk bottles because i have something sweet to store in them and perch them in my little creative corner(s).

I'm a little obsessive lately with trying to get my little studio space set up and beautifying my little corner(s). I've gotten such wonderful responses about my book space from so many of you. Thanks to all of you for your extremely thoughtful, sweet and inspiring comments. It gives me the confident to launch a new series here on my bubble space : Corners of my creative space.

Lots going on this sunny sunday, the plan is to finish two custom wedding buntings, but mostly i'm set on getting some serious cleaning and organizing. I have a couple of exciting news in store for you ~ an exhibition and a collaboration. I can hardly contain myself but i will share more with you as the days and weeks unfold. *Squeal* A cause for celebration for sure.
