Hello and Happy Friday to you.
A little while ago, i had the pleasure of seeking a "YES" in making a ring pillow and a little pouch for Sandy's wedding gifts. This week, i've been working my little fingers to the bone. I promised myself i would try to finish the wedding embroidery for the ring pillow before the weekend as well as to stay focused and not get too distracted by other projects on my agenda *cough laptop sleeves cough*. The weekend is almost here. I am very happy to say i spent a good portion of my time working on and finishing the wedding embroidery! * a big smile*
I purchased several yards of the softest, lightest-weight feathered cream fabric for this embroidery, and when i say soft, i meant soft like i wanted to take it out of the bag and rub it on my cheek the whole way home. I came out with a mix of ribbon and thread embroidery. As with any first time project (i.e. ribbon embroidery), there was a learning curve and some uncertainty at times. But i think it turned out really sweet and nice. I even took it to my day job to show some of my best buddies. Can you tell i'm pretty psyched about it?
I recently purchased several yards of this sweet cute ribbon. A perfect addition for my wedding gifts making. It's going to be a long weekend for us here in this city of brotherly love ~ 4 days weekend! I'm a big fan of weekends like this ~ lots to do and lots to accomplish. With a little discipline, i'm planning to work quite a bit, pretty much fill with list-making and crafting until my eyes hurt! I'll be back in this space next week to say hello and share all the tidbits from the long weekend. Till then, wishing you a lovely merry happy weekend and love to you!
Wow, your ribbon embroidery project turned out simply gorgeous! It looks so elegant and intricate. I'm very envious of your FOUR-day weekend - enjoy!

Such wedding splendor you've made, Jacqueline! :o) That ribbon embroider is so beautiful...quite enchanting! I love ribbon embroider and used to do lots of it. The internet makes it possible to get all kinds of supplies now--not always the case when I tried the craft some 10+ years ago. That wedding ribbon is such fun. Enjoy your 4-day weekend, my friend. See you next week! :o) ((BIG HUGS))

Have you ever tried Brazilian embroidery? My grandma started with that and moved onto ribbon embroidery. Your pillow reminds me so much of hers :) I love it! Congrats on a job well done!
