This is the sweetest season of the year, making your list ~ filling it up with holiday gifts ideas, packaging ideas and decorations ideas.
Handmade gifts are the best kind, particularly when they're edible and prettily packaged. This year, if time permits i would love to make holiday cookies as gifts and hope that they turn out as pretty as they are delicious. And although i am not a good baker, i do want to try something new ~ baking cookies and pretty them up with lovely packages, and offering them to family and friends. I think baking cookies is much more than a small gesture ~ it's a personal one, showing the best sentiments of the season.
I treated myself to a gift in the form of a cute holiday cookie cutter set from Wilton. I love the size of these cutters ~ really mini ones. I can't seem to stop looking at them. It makes me happy. I think im gonna try to keep my cookie recipe really simple. I'd love it if you'd share your most favorite cookie recipe.
Who can resist an attractive assortment of freshly baked holiday cookies? Set some out with a tall glass of cold milk, and tempt Santa. teehee Wishing you a merry happy relaxing weekend. Good times and happy friday! Love to you and yours.
hello jacqueline:: i love your mini cookie cutters and the playful santa too! i hope you have a great weekend as the forecast here is a major snow storm!

ooo, edible gifts are always wonderful! Home baked goods especially are fantastic to receive as handmade gifts. I like Alton Brown recipes - perhaps because I like his Food Network show of explaining the science in cooking as well. I have his DVD of holiday cookie recipes, but you can find plenty online too, like this one http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/chocolate-peppermint-pinwheel-cookies-recipe4/index.html

Cute set of cookie cutters! My husband's favorite Christmas cookies are these sugar cookie cut-outs, so I have to make some too. I love to frost and decorate them with sprinkles. Enjoy your baking adventures!

Mini things are favorites of mine and that includes cookies. Love your little cookie cutters - and your cookies will be a big hit I'm sure. My mom's friend bakes cookies of all sorts for all her friends and family every year. We always enjoy receiving them and looking forward to her visit when she drops them off. Everyone sits down for cookies and coffee & catches up about the year. Hugs ~ Lori

I made some great cut-out cookies last week. I bought a sugar cookie mix, and followed the directions on package - to add more flour and less butter. Rolled, cut and washed with egg white mixed with water. Sprinkled on sparkling sugar before baking. They were great and I didn't have to worry. I cheated a little with the mix, but I had no stress and everyone enjoyed them.
