My girls and i have been waiting for these two sweetest little friends to join the dolly family, Peony the doll and Pansy the bunny (the girls took the liberty to name them after our favorite flowers). And they finally arrived home this week just in time for the weekend photography session!

I'm a big fan of mirianata. I've been admiring her work and watching her shop but i always missed out. I get little butterflies in my tummy because the packaging alone was amazing. Thank you so much, Miriana. We LOVE them!

My girls are lucky babies. Maybe it's just me, but i think the little doll and the little bunny are too cute for words. Truly. Pretty fantastic, wouldn't you say? I would. I'm over the moon.

I'm working away here, sewing and scheming for a couple of projects.

i heart mail. yes i do.

I've been meaning to post some mail goodies during the Valentine's week. Better late than never.

It might sound silly, but there is nothing quite like receiving a surprise package filled with amazing goodies from Canada by the lovely Koralee. The packaging alone is amazing, but opening the cupcake paper cups stickers covered, beautiful Canada stamp laden package to find such lovely treasures is indescribable.

Koralee is such a sweet lady. If you don't know her, you should drop by her blog and take a look around. I always enjoy her lovely posts, which happen to be full of beautiful photos and handmade treats.

The green tea and that adorable "Arts and crafts keep you sane" book pretty much sent me over the moon. Very dainty and pretty fantastic, wouldn't you say? I would.

couldn't resist

Another week comes to a close, i feel like i'm almost back to my old self again. Thanks for all the sweetness about my lolly post. I really love re-using things instead of purchasing. It's very satisfying.

Something else that's satisfying is that i managed to package up some tea time treat boxes. It has certainly been established that i'm a big fan of packaging. It's something i do, and have done since high school. Because i buy so many packaging supplies, i'm always looking for new ways and inspiration to package my gifts or products. I couldn't resist sharing it here with you.

These are some of the loveliness i used in these packages. The lovely "Tea for Two" cotton tape is made by a talented friend, Anna, of lillalotta. She makes the most yummie cotton tapes ever! I bought these lovely frost lace bags from a local craft shop and the screen prints hand silk-screened little notes are made by Hambly Screenprints. They have a wide selection of gorgeous screen prints from wall declas to gorgeous papers, rub-ons and stickers!

Lucky for me, my sister found/bought me a "second hand" sealer {it has only been used just a few times}! Now, i have a new packaging partner, Mr friendly sealer, to provide me some packaging solution! Nice eh? I think i'll be trying heart-shaped coffee-time treat boxes down the road {for coffee lovers out there}. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm looking forward to work on my new Button iCase/iCozy project {for iPhone}, enjoy some quality time relaxing at home in my comfy lounge pants and soup making. Here's to a sweet mother's day weekend, dear friends!

Punchin' about

Happy Friday Friends. This week has been such a blur, but that's probably the last remaining bit of healing potions talking. Thanks so much for all your healing comments on my last post ~ i'm recovering quite well. Happy it's Friday and even happier the weekend is so close I can almost grab it.

Do you ever see something and know right away that you want to make it or learn it? This sort of thing happens to me quite often. A recent example would be when i saw an article on punchneedle embroidery while flipping through one of Stampington's publications at my favorite book store. Why i decided i needed to try learning this new technique is beyond me. What i do know is that i liked the embroidery ALOT. This was definitely the highlight of my week ~ my punch needle.

I've used it to make a prototype of "Use Me" tag for my iPhone and iPad case/cozy project. And let me be honest, i had so much trouble with making the little hoops with my punch needle. I don't know exactly what i was not doing right ~ perhaps you can help me. There is definitely a bit of wonkiness here and there, but the best part though is completing this prototype tag that i've been thinking about since last week. I'll be experimenting and making more.

I hope your week is shaping up nicely and happy mid-week. I'm still here, although i'm not feeling all that chatty lately, which has a lot to do with being tired after a weekend trip to see family. I know it sounds dramatic, but i'm convinced that driving is a totally energy sucker for me.

It is no secret that i love pretty packaging. A magical form of art with simple items. There is always something so fun and creative about packaging something up nicely and sweetly.

I've made some paper tags but i do want to explore more with making pretty gift tags {perhaps with some sewing and lace trims}. Stamps are really neat. Treated myself to a new stamp recently ~ adding it to my little growing stamp collection. I might just visit a craft shop tonight just because i am feeling inspired. I do want to make some vellum envelopes with paper doilies.

I am sure anyone would really appreciate a good package : both receiving and sending them. Lately with the holiday season around the corner, i've been thinking alot about a cheery makeover on "So Cute It Hurts" packaging ~ finding creative ways to package. It is as fun as coming up with what goes inside. I wanted also to offer homemade treats wrapped in papers or bags that echoes my heartfelt sentiments. I've received several of the most loveliest packages, you know, the kind that make you immediately bust out your camera to take pictures before you open it up? And i wanted to create this exact feeling in "So Cute It Hurts" packaging as well.

 
I've been experimenting and trying to master the basics of wrapping a package ~ learning from books on the prettiest ideas, hands-on with lots of ribbons and paper crafts recipes and thank you to Martha Stewart. Through this learning process, i realized that one of the many secrets lie in its nearly folded ends. My packaging ideas and designs run from tags, ribbons, stamps to eco bags.

Here are just a few of my favorite recipes and prettiest packaging ideas ~ it's incredible and amazing how creativity flows through your system when your heart is really in what you are creating, everything just comes together for you.
