We have a thing for mushroom

Every baby needs a handmade doll, right? Thought so. My girls and i have been waiting for this little friend ~ the sweetest little mushroom girl for weeks. Finally she arrived this week with a little surprise gift from the very sweet and talented, Miriana. Just in time for a weekend photography session!

The girls name this little mushroom girl, Magnolia and the little baby mushroom, Morning glory. I am in LOVE with Miriana's custom dolls and they make perfect little gifts for my girls. I am head over heels. Thanks for your overwhelming generosity, Miriana. My girls and i love them both dearly.

It's been a long while since i last photograph Vanilla. Today is all about her and her new friends which must have excited her to no end because she wasn't much interested in sleep all weekend. Vanilla can't seem to stop playing with them. These little ones make me happy.

pleased as punch

Hello. The hazardous level here is raising outside as i type this. I decided to just make my Sunday cozy and lazy around the house...such a good day for supreme laziness. Lately i've had the good fortune when it comes to one of my favorite things: Mail.

For starters, Chloe (Aladdin and The Enchanted Lamp ver. Coco) finally arrived after a very LONG wait. Chloe is really beautiful and it's so sweet to have her in sight. She makes me happy. I don't know about you, but i could really use some cheer to get me through the remaining days or months of this haze.

I recently also received the best package from the lovely (and very generous) Pei Li. This black cherries cake is inspired after a real cake photo i showed to her. It is so well-made and maybe it's just me, but i think it's too beautiful for words. Truly. It is perfect for my little dolls. We're pretty excited to have a lovely cake...it fits nicely.

I don't blame her

Now that the holiday season is over, things are slowly returning to normal. Well, mostly, i'm still finding it a bit difficult to get back into a routine. For now, or at least for this weekend, i will continue to savor the slow, stay in your pajamas a little longer days of post-holiday hubbub.

The highlight of my new year was definitely last Thursday. Pettibon's here, indeed. She is so beautiful. She has the cutest little face i've ever laid eyes on. Her sisters (Coco, Kuroo and Ruki) love her. And so far they seem to be okay with me keeping "baby Pettibon" around. Pettibon also seems quite pleased to be part of our family. We're thrilled about all of this because we sure wouldn't think of parting with her. She's a keeper. A beautiful, snuggle little keeper.

I was really lucky and very blessed to be able to adopt her from sweet Linnette of LottaKalott. Pettibon has stolen my heart. Linnette's gesture of allowing me to adopt her has shown me that indeed i am fully capable of creating enough love in my family for four little ones. Welcome, sweet Pettibon. The girls and i are so very grateful and thankful we get to call her our baby girl.

Pettibon is a pirate Lea from the "Treasure Island and Pirate monkey" event with a beautiful face up done by a Chinese artist called "Hidden Dream" (Phyllia). This girl has seen the world, from Korea to Norway, from Norway to France, Spain and back to Norway. Now Malaysia.

The girls and i had quite a blast with Pettibon's photo-shoot (trying on so many different color wigs but we love her as a blond). Pettibon picked only to wear this pair of cottage bloomers by sweet Tricia of h. jardin. I don't blame her, she traveled from a cold country to a very warm tropical country. It's gonna take her some time to get use to the new environment and the heat. The girls are trying their best to make it easy for her. I could see that going over really well.

Sweet Linnette even gifted Pettibon's favorite pink shoes and some of her favorite outfits! They are just so adorable and i am sure this girl is very happy.

Sorry for the silence. Man oh man, i fell into a rabbit hole. The photo above shows (or maybe not) how much i have been able to climb out. Yep, not too much, although, i am working on it. 

On a different subject entirely, i can't resist posting photos of my newest dolly member, Ruki. My girls and i love her to bits. I'm positive you will be seeing her lots more hopefully with some of my new dolly projects.

Ruki, the Donkey (sorry i couldn't resist having her post in a sheep hat), is Lati's limited collection from the Town Circus of Bremen series based on The Bremen Town Musicians, a musical cartoon.

She is so beautiful and maybe it's just me, but i think she's too pretty for words. Truly. I hope the photos tell the story.

I've been meaning to post some mail goodies during the Valentine's week. Better late than never.

It might sound silly, but there is nothing quite like receiving a surprise package filled with amazing goodies from Canada by the lovely Koralee. The packaging alone is amazing, but opening the cupcake paper cups stickers covered, beautiful Canada stamp laden package to find such lovely treasures is indescribable.

Koralee is such a sweet lady. If you don't know her, you should drop by her blog and take a look around. I always enjoy her lovely posts, which happen to be full of beautiful photos and handmade treats.

The green tea and that adorable "Arts and crafts keep you sane" book pretty much sent me over the moon. Very dainty and pretty fantastic, wouldn't you say? I would.

I've crossed the line...

Look how spoiled my little one has been lately when it comes to one of my favorite things: Mail. I've had the good fortune of being able to order a few lovely items for my Coco. Except for this miniature model camera, i placed orders that support amazing crafters whose creations i have come to know and love.

This tiny gem above hasn't and won't leave my little one's fingers any time soon. One of my best girl, Pei Li, found it for me on Photojojo. This camera is very detailed and very real looking 1/6 scale model of my life-size DSLR with every button, screen, switch, and dial in place. I love it!

This charming little replica comes with three detachable lenses with removable lens hoods! And just when i thought it couldn't get any more want-worthy, a snap happy plastic dino is included too!

Hope you had a great weekend. Mine hasn't turned out too awesome. I've been down for the count since Friday morning with a nasty headache/body-ache and a gastric flu. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that doctor's prescription and taking it easy this week will contribute to a speedy recovery.

Hamburger size macaroons, anyone?

Thanks so much for all the birthday love. It was full to the brim with dim sum for brunch, two beautiful gifts from my family, a delicious dinner out with my two lovely sisters and brother, and lots and lots of sweetness from friends and family. It was fantastic.

The mail man made a quick stop on thusday late afternoon and dropped off my late birthday package! I am now an official Lati doll collector. Sometimes you gotta treat yourself, right? Honestly, i could not put her down. She is so well-made and maybe it's just me, but i think she's too cute for words. Truly.

I adore both of her gorgeous wigs. Each wig gives her a totally different feel and look. I'm really looking forward to make some adorable dolly clothes for her ~ a French maid outfit might be the first one i go for. I'm very intrigued.

woke up this morning and smiled at the rising sun...

Happy New Year!!! Well, a tad bit late. Sorry things have been so quiet around here. I am just finding it a bit difficult to get back into a routine after the holidays.

But i think today's a good day to get things back on the groove. Just because, today's the day i entered the world. It's also a new found appreciation for all my mama did to get me into the world on this day so long ago. It has been a beautiful adventure. I've had the privilege of traveling to faraway places, eating great food and laughing a lot, getting a wonderful education and made some wonderful friends (like you, yes you).

I can't resist, i have to show you a recent gift made for me by a very creative and thoughtful friend, Pei Li. These handmade life size and miniature size macaroons are just so beautiful and yummilicous. It came with a really beautiful french style container. This surprise gift is so wonderful i can't even begin to explain how overjoyed i am about it. Thank YOU so much sweet lovely friend!

What a beautiful day to get to celebrate, too. The weather is perfect and i see all kinds of good things in my immediate future. Here's to a year older. I'm looking forward to it.

Hello friends, i'm still here.

I spent a good portion of the impromptu blog break working on various projects around the house. The new home is slowly coming together at a snail's pace. Perhaps this weekend will be a good weekend to get settled a little more ~ maybe on my little creative space. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for all the extremely thoughtful comments and emails, and thank you for understanding my need to be quiet these couple of weeks.

In crafty news, i did spent several hours working in my not-so-organize creative space. It was so nice to find some time to get started on my Pipit productivity. Somewhere along the way, i've developed big plans for it and i'm trying to make several items for Pipit wonderful market and only have a month and 4 days from today to do it. Hectic.

Above are some of my newest "I believe" blossoms lace brooch pieces, these are making their debut on Pipit Wonderful Market along with a few of my Marylinn tote bags and some other SoCuteItHurts goodies.

I'm pleased as punch with how they turned out! These brooches are sweet and feminine with a taste of cuteness.

 

In case you are curious, these shabby chic trays are custom made by my sweet friend, Pei Li, to go along to display my brooch pieces. Thank you so much sweet Pei Li, these trays are just perfect! I also took these shots with my new photography table i bought for my new little creative space. So, it's official, i'm hooked.

With a little discipline, i'm going to tackle all that needs to be done for Pipit wonderful market in the next few weeks.

What a weekend *deep breath*... i'll just say, i'm so glad the year is off to a good start. I could use a nice week to catch my breath. I seem to have so many stories to share and i'm also excited to share this year with you as there is quite a lot in store.

Let's start off with this story, i've been meaning to post this amazing package that arrived on my doorstep just a few days before Christmas 2010. Better late than never. It's unbelievable, look at all the beautiful items the talented and generous Anna from LillaLotta sent me.

A while ago, i participated in Anna's Christmas Goodness Package trade. I'm so lucky. Thanks for your overwhelming generosity sweet Anna. I love each and every thing you sent. Pretty fantastic, wouldn't you say? I am over the moon with joy!
