So Cute It Hurts

I'm still here.

I hope your Thanksgiving was full to the brim. I feel so much gratitude for every moment -- even the challenging ones, of which there were plenty.

We're savoring the wonderful lazy days of the weekend. Naps have been very popular around here and a Christmas holiday tradition ~ pulling out our handmade Macaron ornaments out of the box and decorating the little Christmas tree. The crafty corner is starting to shimmer and twinkle. My sweet girl, Vera and her bear, Sofia, took part in decorating. Sofia was quite fond of the Macaron. And ALL the Macaron must be used. That is a rule here. Not mine, theirs. Vera's, actually. The second order of business is Christmas gift countdown. Back to knitting for the Mister.

On the cusp to fall loveliness.

We just returned from spending a week at Ceylon. It was the best of times. This trip helped me completely understand the meaning of live simply, be grateful and give love. It's crystal clear -- when you find something that works there is no reason to look elsewhere. It's silly to admit but the outdoor and spontaneous adventures with my mister might have been my very favorite thing about this holiday. It was such a beautiful experience, one that... pushed me far out of my comfort zone and gave me the opportunity to see some parts of the world and my place in it in a much different way. I gained so much from traveling and will always be grateful for having the privilege of taking such an unforgettable journey. It was such a great time. So happy we made the trip.

I had captured quite a few simple, special and extroardinary moments that i want to pause, savour, remember and share ~ let's call this "On the cusp to fall loveliness" series.

The power of silence.

 I am still feeling a little under the weather and it's wonderful to be able to sit still and have some quietness inside. Nadia, Sofia the bear and i are appreciating the nature of silence and loving how beautiful it is this restful Wednesday. I remember as a university student, when i was feeling tired and when life was a little overbearing, i love to visit the campus church just to sit quietly on the bench and not to worship anything but silence.

I've learned that quiet spaces allow the problems of life to just subside long enough to allow us to see what needs to be done. A place that allow us to just be, relax and allow the natural wisdom of our own minds to come forth and show us just what we are crying for is a small thing and there are solutions that will soften the pain and tears in life. It's as if there is wisdom all around us and as if it's just right there for the taking. But sometimes when there is too much noise, we just can't hear what life is teaching us.

Silence teaches me to listen to myself, to my heart and to life..
This, i will continue to practice.

The little Missy Monster series part 3 and 4.

It took some time, but i'm finally getting around to showing off my little Missy Monster again.  I will do a part 3 and 4 together. 

This is my newest Blythe carry case that i fondly named Little Missy Monster. I created her just for fun and mainly because i was going through a serious softie admiration phase and wanted to try creating a creature of my own. I created the pattern through much trial and error, so there was (as there always is) a bit of fudging involved. Lucky for me it fits really well. The best part for me was gathering all the fabrics and accessories from my creative corner and sitting down to decide what i wanted to use. In the end everything came together just fine.

Little Missy Monster is cute and soft and full of personality. Lucky for me, Ryan was willing to model this little Missy Monster Blythe carry case for you to see. I love this little Blythe case so much. It's such fun to whip up. I plan to make a few more in different colors perhaps to send out into the world.

I have to show some close up of her little details mainly because i love how beautiful she turned out. Here are the details: 

i added 2 security belts inside to keep my girl in position, 
gave her a changeable hearts blouse, 
a removable leather handle (in case you wanna just hug her),
and finished her with a painted white Blythe pull charm for flair (and to match her fur).

I wanted to thank each of you for all the sweetness about my little Missy Monster series. It was such a fun series for me. I know i've mentioned it here loads of times, but i really do have the most wonderful friends. It makes me a little misty just thinking about it.

I am down with a nasty sore throat. I'm keeping my finger crossed that my self-prescribed combination of ginger lemon tea, movies and many long naps will contribute to a speedy recovery.

The dog days of Summer fun.

After a little unplanned hiatus, i'm back to say hello. Sometimes an unexpected and unplanned blogging break is such a good thing for me.

I went on a short summer vacation last month. It was the best of times and our days were so full. We ate like kings. Delicious cakes and home cook comfort food were devoured. There were long quiet afternoons naps and lazy days of serious lounging. There were lots of evening walks involving gardens burst with all kinds of colorful flower goodness and big city exploration. We've loved creating some of our very own traditions and spending the days just the two of us doing exactly what we want ~ celebrating love. Like i said, it was the best of times. Ahhh...summer vacation, i adore you.

The little Missy Monster series part 2.

The little Missy Monster series part 2. Well, folks, I'll admit it. I LOVE making cute things. The Missy Monster series continues, here is a little peek at Missy Monster. I ordered her a beautiful pair of Alice Blice's Starry Night blythe eyechips and added little eyelashes for flare with a touch of rosy cheeks I'm overjoyed.

I love this Missy Monster so much. She is special for so many reasons, primarily because it's inspirational to see how this project comes to live from ...my head to my hands. Loveliness. just because. I've not felt that jazzed by a project in a long while. Such a satisfying project that added some much fun when it comes to taking one of my girls out for a walk.

The little Missy Monster series part 1.

The spurts of creativity have been ebbing and flowing around here, but I'm still feeling mostly good about things. The photo below is definitely not the usual way one would show off a completed sewing project. But... i wanted to give a little sneak peak of what i've been working on for my little shop. This project has been in my head for months and i'm thrilled to slowly introduce a new line of Blythe item in the coming weeks.

It took me a while to make this one as i wanted to do it ALL by hand. I had quite a bit of fun with it, though i do find sewing by hand can be somewhat stress relieving ~ very tedious, yet very relaxing. Missy Monster is her name. She is really cute and soft and full of personality. I mean, what little Blythe girls couldn't use a soft and cuddly carrier.

I have big plans to get this and a couple of other ones put in my shop sometime hopefully soon, but first i need to order a couple more supplies. In the meantime and for the coming weeks. i will share with you little tinny sneak peak details of this project. Just for the fun of it, let's call it the little Missy Monster series.

Inspiration.

A beautiful thing that runs my life. It is these acts, body and speech that spread that inspiration to others ~ by doing something way above than the expected normal. Every now and then, i come across stories that i witness or hear of other people acts of great generosity and kindness that just move my heart and encourages me to add my acts of beauty to this world.

Inspiration is the complete opposite of thinking, Inspiration is something inside of you, some wisdom, some kindness, and deep understanding to tell you to stop the thinking and just do it! Because it feels good and it's a beautiful positive source of energy.

How many inspiring things can you remember this week? How many inspiring things have you known in your life? How many inspiring things have you done? If you haven't done any yet, get into it while there is still time. It's amazing what you can archive when you follow your inspiration and trust it. Rue is feeling inspire that she decides to just drop her Sunday plan and spend it with her little friends.

Change in self.

The only thing constant in life is change. How many times have you heard that quoted? But how many of us know that this include our sense of self? Often times, we identify with our views, our ideas, our root in the pass and who we think we are that often becomes what makes us ~ our sense of self. But change still managed to take us by surprise often unsettling us for quite a while especially when it involve who we are, a lot of times this unwillingness to accept that our sense of self is always evolving and changing Many people celebrate stability and things being always be the same

What amazes me, looking back on my life, is that change almost always seems to reveal itself as becoming something even better than before. That is when i go with it, not against it, when i appreciate that its trying to lead me forward ~ to feel much more free and grow closer to a better self. It's good to be changing (never to be fix) and be more open to change ~ to evolve and grow. It is important to recognize, accept and celebrate change, i allow myself a chance to change my views, believes and not to be so perfect, this way i can listen to something that makes me grow further and closer to something which is good.

Melocotón is pondering on my motto: "You can always bend the views and believe to fit the new facts in life". Accepting change in it's awkward uncertainty and appreciating it as is while it gently unfold into whats next.

Sympathetic joy.

This week i've been reminded of the sentiment of "Sympathetic joy". Life is not about you or me but it is and will always be about us. When one person in a family or team or group win, we all win. When somebody makes a discovery, we all benefits. When somebody go pass their personal best and succeed with doing something amazing, we all celebrate. Each one of us stands on the podium rather than just one. This is the secret of cooperation ~ the sympathetic joy. We are all in this together and there is enough room for all of us to succeed together.

Remember, never think that this world is just you. Weather you like it or not, you are not alone. You may be surprise that many people care about you and really want you to be happy. We celebrate each other's good quality and we appreciate each other as we work together towards the mutual goal.
