Finally...after six and a half months, one airplane ride, and a boatload of excitement, my twin girls and i met. Seeing the two babies together was sweeter than the candied yams i had!

My twins, Charlotte and Nichole, got a huge kick out of dressing up this morning in their Hello Kitty outfits. Every little girl needs a Hello Kitty dress and shoes, right?

I've also recently scored some new shoes while hanging out on Facebook. These adorable animal shoes have been on my mind and now i have some on my girls' feet. Exactly how many pairs of shoes is too many? I'm not sure, but as far as i can tell i haven't gotten there yet.

Twenty eleven + an unbelievable swap

What a weekend *deep breath*... i'll just say, i'm so glad the year is off to a good start. I could use a nice week to catch my breath. I seem to have so many stories to share and i'm also excited to share this year with you as there is quite a lot in store.

Let's start off with this story, i've been meaning to post this amazing package that arrived on my doorstep just a few days before Christmas 2010. Better late than never. It's unbelievable, look at all the beautiful items the talented and generous Anna from LillaLotta sent me.

A while ago, i participated in Anna's Christmas Goodness Package trade. I'm so lucky. Thanks for your overwhelming generosity sweet Anna. I love each and every thing you sent. Pretty fantastic, wouldn't you say? I am over the moon with joy!

Lastly, thank YOU so much for your continued support, love of So Cute It Hurts and for all your sweet comments and emails you take your time to send me. I am truly grateful.
I hope 2011 is as good to all of us as 2010 was.

Catching up

Hello friends.

Lots going on here, but i wanted to pop in and show a recent Sashiko embroidery i made.

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone for the super sweet compliments on my new walnuts ornaments. Sometimes the smallest things can really perk a girl up. I'm still riding high from your sweet words about it. Sadly, my little walnuts shells collection is very limited so i've been running around the city like crazy trying to find more wallnuts with shells but each visit to a different mall ends up in a disappointment. I will keep looking for them in hopes to make more of these walnuts loveliness.

I'll be working away here over the weekend, sewing and scheming for a mini shop update, a christmas swap and also some custom orders. There's definitely lots to do. Hope your weekend is full to the brim with sweetness. Warm cheers to you and yours.

feeling lucky

...when it comes to friends. This is something i am aware of and something i try to acknowledge on a daily basis. Just the other day i received a surprise package from a very beautiful and talented friend, Linda of tortagialla.The package was filled with amazing handmade goodies that caught me completely off-guard and made me feel even luckier.

I mean really, the packaging alone is amazing, but opening the sticker covered, beautiful Italy stamp laden package to find such lovely treasures is indescribable. The sweet pink {my favorite color} handmade leather journal pretty much sent me over the moon. It's my very first handmade journal ~ i haven't used it yet, i'm letting it settle in before i decide what precious words and treasures to put into it. Thank YOU kindly Linda for this sweet surprise, that i love so much. 

The weekend is here. It's a good thing because i'm planning to wrap up my fancy wearables project. I'm keeping it short today ~ too much to do and i'm trying to prolong my computer-less weekend a bit. By the way, my mister says a big Thank You for all the sweet portrait comments. He's pretty blissed out.

Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain

Hello...

Hope you had a sweet weekend. I did all sorts of things I wanted to do, things including of watching a couple of movies, a few hours of hunched shoulders and hand stitching, sipping on warm sweet fine Chinese tea, and naps. I do feel alot better now...thank you so much for all the love you sent my way!

I would love to introuduce you to a friend.

If you don't know Mai, you should drop by her blog and take a look around. She's quite a sweet lady. I always enjoy her lovely posts, which happen to be full of  beautiful handmade tutorials, embroidery and her beautiful city, Yokohama. A while back i contacted her about doing a little handmade goodies swap, and  she said YES! Obviously I jumped for joy! I had only recently found her blog and had taken to visiting daily. I think I was hooked when she posted gorgeous photos of her tutorials, embroidery and her weekend walks around her beautiful city. You know I have a lot of love for the things in Japan.  Take a look at all the fantastic goodies she sent me (all the way from Yokohama). I LOVE having a friend in Yokohama...

Thanks for your overwhelming generosity, Mai.  I love each and everything you sent. I'll try to finish up your surprise goodies and have them mail out hopefully by this week!

Perfectly wrapped...even her packing material was unique and wonderful! Silly as it may sounds, i actually kept it unopened for 2 days, wanted to just admire the package a little bit longer.

Everything in the package were just so cute it hurts!

I must admit thought i am a HUGE fan of her sashiko embroidery pocket tote bag...and she made me this very special tote bag! I cannot express the love and overwhelming happiness i felt and still feel as i write this.

 Such pretty colors and delicate embroidery.

 There were just so many delightful little details to appreciate.

I can't believe she also made me a Haniwa plushy in it's dancing position! My new found friend nows sits on my desk at my creative space keeping me company.

And her handmade bias tape....gosh they are just sooo pretty! Pretty fantastic, wouldn't you say?  I would. I'm over the moon! I hope my handmade surprise goodness bring her as much excitement and joy when she receive my package. *cross my fingers*

Isn't friendship just the hardest thing in the world to explain? I feel so lucky to meet each and everyone of you from all over the world. Thank you for your friendship...thank you for taking time, time to stop and take an interest in me. *hugz*
